Visitor Testimonials (1775)

This kopitiam has evolved from a traditional local spot into a modern-style kopitiam while still retaining its charm. The food served is nice, with a wider variety of bao & pastry compared to before. The new options are a welcome addition, but the vegetable bao remains the top choice. A good place to enjoy classic flavors with a modern touch.

A newly refurnished old school kopitiam, now in a better, modern, cozy style. Environment is nicely air-conditioned, clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and efficient. Plenty of food choices from snacks, steamed baos, dim sum, to main dishes like rice set, nasi lemak and noodles. I think it doesn’t have any pork, so not only Chinese customers, but few Indians customers were seen too. The steamed Baos was known to be famous, I tried the Coconut and Vegetables. Fairly priced at RM 2- RM2.2. The bao was soft and bouncy. The filling is fairly on the smaller ratio, but coconut was okay, not very sweet. The vegetables bao have quarter egg inside. Not the best bao, but it is a fairly good one. Plus, it’s served steaming hot. The yam puff, it’s crispy and nice yam flavour, just the filling is minced meat, not cubed. The nasi lemak is nice, soft fragrant basmati rice, sambal was nice, fried chicken juicy, pickled vegetables nice too. Noodles are also on the nice side, not oily but very crispy, just portion slightly big! Overall food is decent, Kopi was great! There’s also lots of biscuits and snacks to choose at the counter. Will come if around the area.

Visited again for the steamed buns (包). I quite like the kaya and red bean buns. I also found the vegetable bun quite interesting as it has an egg inside. 芋角 is just average tasting. Take away options such as frozen buns and cooler bags are available as well. Have not tasted their mains on their extended menu since their renovation but would recommend this kopitiam for the steamed buns itself.

26 Sep 2024 Our stop pit, on the way to Sekinchan Surprisingly many customers were there during weekdays. If you want to try their special buns you need to queue at the first counter and get them. Other foods you order from your table and pay to the serving crews directly. Another surprise was the portion of the foods served, really worth the money. We had a fish head noodle, which tasted good. Toilet: 3.5 out of 5 as the floor was too we.

The last time when I was here was still local kopitiam style and now has refurbished to modern cafe style, the environment was clean and spacious. As for the food, personally ~ as far as I can remember, the yam puff taste better last time, now it is a bit too salty and soft texture for me! Nonetheless, still yummy!

Kedai Kopi Shin Lok (Jeram) is a charming, nostalgic kopitiam serving standout yam puffs and vegetable buns at great prices. Its welcoming, pork-free menu draws diverse crowds, especially during weekend breakfast hours. Occasional staff shortages and minor inconsistencies in other dishes or ambiance aside, it’s considered a worthwhile food stop in Jeram—especially if you’re craving Malaysian-style snacks and coffee. Ideal for a Malaysian kopitiam experience focused on fluffy, well-crafted buns and comforting coffee at budget-friendly prices. Just be prepared for a bit of queuing and self-service hustle. If that’s your vibe, go ahead—worth the stop!
